Add Variety To Your Garden This Year

Most of us like to dedicate the majority of our garden space to growing our favorite varieties each year. I’ve been guilty of it too because sometimes ‘same old’ is better than ‘don’t know’.

But growing the same thing over and over again can take the fun out of gardening. The simple way to change that is by growing a different, unusual variety of the very food you love!

What do I mean by that?

Well, if you like broccoli, why not try growing Jacaranda Broccoli, a beautiful purple variety that tastes the same but looks fabulous on a dinner plate! Perhaps you’re bored of arugula. May I suggest Purple Mizuna? It’s neon purple stems make even the garden glow!

Why not grow a Black Beauty Tomato instead of the traditional red? Or Homemade Pickles Cucumber (my favorite for pickling and fresh eating), Dragon Tongue Bush Beans - serve these purple speckled beans on a charcuterie board and your guests will be buzzing with questions! There’s Golden Beetroot, Watermelon Radishes, the list is endless!

Now that I’ve named a few unusual varieties from my list, it’s time for you to go on your own gardening adventure and try growing something new this year! Cheers!
