Small Space Garden Transformation

fullsizeoutput_3147.jpeg

In this picture, we had a backyard garden which was barren, neglected and overgrown with weeds. We designed a potager style four bed garden and filled the pathways with gravel and a created a square border.

The beds were painted a light grey, large containers were added to provide more planting space, and a quaint, vintage wheelbarrow was filled with beautiful herbs and flowers such as lavender, milkweed, petunias, sweet potato vines, chives and lemongrass to attract bees and pollinators.

This small growing space has produced peas, lettuce, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchinis and peppers, just to name a few.

Every fall, compost is added in and dead plants are taken out.

It’s been 3 years and this growing space is still going strong!
